Ingredients
  

  • 400 g Firm tofu pressed and drained
  • ½ cup Barbecue sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil or any cooking oil
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder optional
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika for smoky flavor
  • ½ tsp Black pepper to taste
  • ¼ tsp Salt adjust as needed

Equipment

  • 1 Baking tray
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Tongs or spatula

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Cut pressed tofu into cubes or slices.
  3. In a bowl, mix barbecue sauce, olive oil, soy sauce, and spices.
  4. Add tofu pieces to the marinade and gently coat evenly.
  5. Let tofu marinate for 20 minutes for better flavor.
  6. Arrange tofu pieces on the prepared baking tray in a single layer.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  8. Brush extra barbecue sauce on top during the last 5 minutes.
  9. Remove from oven once edges are slightly crispy.
  10. Serve hot as a main dish or side.
