Ingredients
  

  • 4 medium Potatoes russet or baking potatoes
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 tsp Salt coarse or to taste
  • ½ tsp Black pepper optional
  • 2 tbsp Fresh herbs chopped, optional garnish

  • 1 Oven Preheated
  • 1 Baking tray Lined or unlined
  • 1 Fork For piercing potatoes
  • 1 Knife Optional, for serving
  • 1 Aluminium foil Optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly.
  3. Pat potatoes dry using a kitchen towel.
  4. Pierce each potato several times with a fork.
  5. Rub potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  6. Place potatoes directly on a baking tray.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes.
  8. Check doneness by inserting a fork into the center.
  9. Remove potatoes from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  10. Slice open and serve with desired toppings.
