Cheesy One Skillet Italian Baked Meatballs Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Ground beef or beef–pork mix
  • ½ cup Breadcrumbs Italian-style
  • ¼ cup Milk any type
  • 1 Egg large
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning dried
  • ½ tsp Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp Black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups Marinara sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley chopped, garnish
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil for skillet

Equipment

  • 1 Oven-safe skillet Cast iron preferred
  • 1 Mixing bowl For meatball mixture
  • 1 Wooden spoon For mixing
  • 1 Measuring cups Optional
  • 1 Spoon or scoop For shaping meatballs

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, garlic, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix until just combined without overworking.
  4. Shape the mixture into evenly sized meatballs.
  5. Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
  6. Brown meatballs on all sides for 5–6 minutes.
  7. Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs evenly.
  8. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for 20 minutes.
  10. Remove from oven once cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
