Juicy and flavorful Middle Eastern kafta kebabs made with spiced ground meat, fresh herbs, and aromatic seasonings. Perfect for grilling and serving with flatbread, rice, or salads.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g Ground beef or lamb fresh, not too lean
  • 1 cup Onion finely grated
  • 3 tbsp Fresh parsley finely chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Ground cumin for flavor
  • 1 tsp Ground coriander optional
  • ½ tsp Black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Salt adjust as needed
  • ½ tsp Paprika adds color and flavor
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil for brushing

Equipment

  • 1 Grill pan or BBQ grill
  • 6 Skewers
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Cutting board

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground meat, grated onion, parsley, and garlic.
  2. Add cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Mix everything thoroughly until well combined.
  4. Cover and refrigerate the mixture for 30 minutes.
  5. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape onto skewers.
  6. Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  7. Lightly brush kebabs with olive oil.
  8. Grill kebabs for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally.
  9. Cook until browned outside and fully cooked inside.
  10. Remove from grill and rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the meat to keep kebabs tender.
  • If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 20 minutes.
  • You can cook these in a pan if a grill is not available.
  • Serve with pita bread, hummus, or yogurt sauce for best taste.
