Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 cup Onion chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 24 oz Marinara sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 12 oz Lasagna noodles cooked according to package
  • cups Ricotta cheese whole milk
  • 8 oz Cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup Sour cream full fat
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning dried
  • ½ tsp Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley chopped, garnish

Equipment

  • 1 Large skillet For meat sauce
  • 1 9x13 baking dish Oven-safe
  • 1 Mixing bowl For cheese mixture
  • 1 Wooden spoon For stirring

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook ground beef and chopped onion in a large skillet over medium heat until browned.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  5. Simmer meat sauce for 10 minutes, then remove from heat.
  6. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, cream cheese, and sour cream until smooth.
  7. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of the baking dish.
  8. Layer lasagna noodles, cheese mixture, mozzarella, and meat sauce.
  9. Repeat layers until ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan.
  10. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  11. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  12. Rest lasagna for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
