Slow Cooker Beef Manhattan Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs Beef chuck roast boneless
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil for browning
  • 1 cup Beef broth low sodium
  • 1 cup Brown gravy prepared or homemade
  • 1 cup Onion sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce optional
  • ½ tsp Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp Black pepper to taste
  • 4 slices Bread toasted
  • 2 cups Mashed potatoes for serving, optional

Equipment

  • 1 Slow cooker 4–6 quart
  • 1 Skillet For browning beef
  • 1 Wooden spoon For stirring
  • 1 Cutting board Prep

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season beef with salt and black pepper.
  3. Sear beef on all sides until browned.
  4. Transfer beef to the slow cooker.
  5. Add sliced onion and minced garlic over the beef.
  6. Pour in beef broth, brown gravy, and Worcestershire sauce.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours until beef is tender.
  8. Shred or slice beef as desired.
  9. Serve beef over toasted bread or mashed potatoes.
  10. Spoon extra gravy on top and serve warm.
