Sticky Buns: The Best Homemade Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients
  

  • cups All-purpose flour sifted
  • 2 tbsp Sugar granulated
  • 1 tsp Salt fine
  • 1 tbsp Yeast active dry
  • ¾ cup Milk warm
  • 3 tbsp Butter melted
  • 1 Egg room temperature
  • ½ cup Brown sugar packed
  • ¼ cup Butter for caramel, melted
  • 2 tbsp Honey or corn syrup for glaze
  • ½ cup Pecans or walnuts chopped
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon optional

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, salt, melted butter, and egg and mix to form a soft dough.
  3. Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  6. Spread butter and sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly.
  7. Roll the dough tightly and cut into equal pieces.
  8. Prepare caramel by mixing melted butter, honey, and brown sugar in a saucepan.
  9. Pour caramel into a greased baking dish and sprinkle nuts on top.
  10. Place the buns over the caramel layer.
  11. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Let cool slightly, then invert onto a serving plate and serve warm.
