Sticky Honey Garlic Wings Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs Chicken wings split, tips removed
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil or vegetable oil
  • ½ tsp Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp Black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder optional
  • cup Honey pure
  • ¼ cup Soy sauce low sodium
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp Butter unsalted
  • 1 tbsp Rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch optional, for thickening
  • 2 tbsp Water for cornstarch slurry
  • 1 tbsp Sesame seeds optional, garnish
  • 2 tbsp Green onions chopped, garnish

Equipment

  • 1 Measuring cups Optional
  • 1 Tongs For tossing wings
  • 1 Saucepan For sauce
  • 1 Mixing bowl Large
  • 1 Wire rack For crispiness
  • 1 Baking tray Lined with foil

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat chicken wings dry and place in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Toss wings with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Arrange wings on a wire rack set over a baking tray.
  5. Bake for 35 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden.
  6. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  7. Add minced garlic and sauté briefly until fragrant.
  8. Stir in honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar.
  9. Simmer sauce for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  10. Mix cornstarch with water and add to sauce if thicker consistency is desired.
  11. Toss baked wings in the sticky honey garlic sauce.
  12. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
